We have another tie with this week’s winner(s):
THE RESULTS:
– Argo: 5 votes
– The Dark Knight Rises: 5 votes
– Django Unchained: 4 votes
– The Master: 3 votes
– The Imposter: 2 votes
– Indie Game: the Movie: 2 votes
– Killer Joe: 0 votes
– Lincoln: 0 votes
– Oslo, August 31st: 0 votes
– Take This Waltz: 0 votes
Not surprised by the co-winners, but I am a little shocked that Killer Joe and Lincoln didn’t get any votes. Pretty cool to see that there are other big fans of The Imposter and Indie Game: the Movie, two fantastic documentaries.
This Week’s Poll: I don’t post video game polls very often, so I’m going to test the waters a bit with this one. What is your favorite video game from 2012? Once again I am allowing for two votes, simply because there are so many worthy options. Even if you didn’t play a lot of games last year, let’s still hear what you think!
Have a great week, folks!
No love for Take This Waltz either, not surprised but I really enjoyed that film.
Same here. I’m surprised so many people despised that film.
I just finished playing all of the episodes for the first story, so I voted for The Walking Dead. That was the most depressing storyline for a video game that I have ever played.
Completely agree, man. The ending is just devastating — phenomenal storytelling though! So glad to hear you enjoyed the series!
I’m not a fan of the show, but I think the storyline from the game should’ve been the series’ storyline rather than the one it has. It was definitely more engaging.
100% agree. I gave up on the show after the first season, though I hear it got better after that.
Does this mean Argo is going to win the Oscar?
Hahaha. Maybe. Then again, Drive won the poll last year, and it didn’t even get a single nomination.
Your this week’s poll makes me realise how much I miss gaming. Not that I was a heavy gamer, but wow… I have a lot of catching up to do!
Last year was one of the best in a while, especially for indie games. Whenever you’re ready to dig back in, there will be plenty of great titles waiting!
Can’t vote this week. Sadly it’s been over a year since I had any time for a video game. I’m saving up spare moments for when GTAV is released.
I’m really looking forward to GTA V, too. Bummer that it got pushed back to September
Far Cry 3 – I think that came out in 2012? Anyway, glad Argo got a lot of votes!
Yeah, Far Cry 3 came out near the end of the year. That’s one I still need to play!
Lot of great games in 2012.
My two picks though are Hitman: Absolution and XCOM, which oddly enough are two games I wouldn’t have suspected to top my “best of the year” list earlier in the year. I figured AC3 (which was a great) would be at the top, with Borderlands 2 or Sleeping Dogs coming in at #2. Great year!
2013 is shaping up to be another great one as well. I suspect The Last of Us will probably top my list this year (I say that because I expect nothing less than pure awesomeness from Naughty Dog), but the game I’m most anticipating right now is actually Defiance (which comes out April 2nd).
Absolutely agree with you about 2012 being a great year. I think we will be looking back later on and recognizing this as one of the most important years in gaming, too. The industry is evolving rapidly, and the indie scene is especially exciting.
I’m really looking forward to The Last of Us as well. Haven’t heard much about Defiance — I’ll have to look that one up.
