Nice job Eric! Two great Russell Crowe films here, though too bad The Insider wasn’t rated higher, that’s one of my fave Michael Mann films. Wow I’m intrigued by your #1 pick, I haven’t even heard of that one.
Thanks, Ruth! 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days is a Romanian film. Not an easy watch by any means, but it really left an impact on me. It might still be on Netflix, too.
More excellent movies, friend. 4 Weeks is a tremendous movie. Glad you enjoyed that one. Happy to see the love for Boyz N the Hood. My only point of contention is seeing Road House on this half of the list and not near the bottom of the other half, lol.
Great seeing films from my top 100 on here! Nice variation with foreign language films, animation, comedy, noir, western, and even a B-movie in Road House. You saw a bunch of great movies for your project
Oops, I swear I replied to this a while ago! I think 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days is still on Netflix Instant if you have access to that. Highly recommend it! Just be warned it’s not an easy watch.
Thanks man. I was very fortunate to have the project turn out so well last year. Only a couple real clunkers (looking at you Armageddon and Driving Miss Daisy).
So many great films here. I got to see Boyz n the Hood on the big screen a few weeks ago, what an experience. That’s one of my all-time favorite films. Slays me.

Great to see “Road House” and “The Iron Giant” make the list!
Loved both of them. Road House was way too much fun 🙂

Haha no love for Road House? I’m a sucker for some good ’80s cheese, and that one delivered in spades.
Great to hear you are a fan of 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days!
Awesome eclectic list here! Great seeing personal faves like The Iron Giant, Miller’s Crossing and Roger Rabbit in the upper half.
I could see quite a few of these ending up on my favorites list, too. So glad I was finally able to catch up with these!

Thanks! Just took a new look at your top 100 — very cool list there. Quite a few of them would make my list of favorites now as well.
So many I need to see. I don’t think I’ve even heard of the first movie on your list, let alone it be the best! I’ll have to find it! Great list.

LOVE this list, although I haven’t seen more than half of them! The selections here seem thoughtful and are very diverse. Great stuff Eric.

I bet that was a great experience, man. I still can’t believe John Singleton was only 24 when he made Boyz n the Hood. Wow.
This was a great list.
