Best of the Month: 12 Years a Slave is the best film I have watched all year, modern or otherwise. Seriously, if you haven’t seen it yet, get to the theater ASAP. Other major highlights this month were Billy Wilder’s excellent courtroom drama, Witness for the Prosecution, and the Argentinian thriller, The Secret in Their Eyes, which I will be reviewing shortly.

Worst of the Month: The Sitter was even worse than I expected. What a waste of a decent cast. I also found little of interest in Computer Chess, a film with a brilliant concept but far too scattered execution.

What was the best film you watched in November?
